Cas Holmes Bio:

My work relates to the natural and built world around us and the elements
that make it up.

I like to use found materials as part of this process and am always
looking at the environmental links and sustainable practice.
This year I am collaborating on several projects including work with
another artist as a means to develop my studio practice and produce new
work using a range of themes.

I am also exhibiting new work in two main projects this year, 'Traces' and
a collaboration, with four other artists, 'Transitions', touring from
Bilston Craft Gallery. Both theses exhibitions are touring the U.K.

As part of my practice I work in the public context, teaching, consultancy
work, commissions and workshop based projects.

It is a time to grow as an artist and push yourself artistically.

Cory gets bags of “stuff” that normal people would toss in the trash.

menus, announcements, invitations, documents, are all fair game when it
comes to art!

“All this stuff makes me happy and happy is what “moxie art” is made
of.
Yes, be mindful of copyrights, if you plan to show, sell, teach, or
publish, but…if you crave the rush of creating for yourself, go for it,
and learn to love what you do.” Cory says.

Cory teaches nationally and internationally for 25 years, offering classes
in watercolor, mixed media collage, encaustics, faux resin techniques for
art objects, jewelry, and much more.
She is passionate about teaching and about creating art, whether a large

Devil Or No Devil deMeng Art Giveaway

And the winner is..... Deedee Hampton from Estes Park!!!

Not the best picture but wanted to show you the pure shock on Deedee's face!

And now the realization has set in!

Pure Joy!

This weekend Michael and I did a Custom art giveaway for attendees in his art workshops at The Artists' Nook as a celebration to my new location in this wonderful retreat location!

Rave reviews from workshop attendees about this wonderful new location!

All attendees earn a matchbox for each day they attended a workshop. One of these matchboxes held a devil. The others, doves.

The one with the devil won!

Deedee Hampton, you lucky one you!

Michael deMeng at The Artists' Nook

We just finished 4 wonderful days with artist, Michael deMeng!

Michael has taught at The Artists' Nook for the past 4 years and as always a treat for those who have attended his workshops!

Michael's workshops are filled with laughter, techniques flowing about, problem solving, and the critique that gives each in attendance something to bring back to their next art project!

We can easily get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, as I have, and to stop and take a moment to see what is present in front of us is what life is about!

Michael has taught here 4 times and this year I have truly seen how he has evolved as an instructor and an artist!

If you get the chance to take a workshop with him, it will be a great experience!

This is the start of the 2-Day Found Object Alchemy workshop. We started with a junking stop at our favorite Fort Collins Antique store. The trick was to find the best stuff before the other deMeng Junkers!

Next, Busy Hands at Work........

Now, some somewhat finished projects......
