Lynne Perrella's Workshop @ The Artists' Nook

We had Lynne Perrella here teaching August 4-7th! Plus Lynne's Artwork is being Featured for the Month of August so we kicked off her exhibit with an Art Opening & Talk on Friday August 4th!

Lynne' workshop was full each day and all created such wonderful pieces! Rave reviews about Lynne as an artist & instructor from the students in the workshop!

I started taking pictures as the weekend went on. It takes me awhile to remember this! So here are some pictures.

Family Vacation- Lake Tahoe

July we took our Family Vacation to Lake Tahoe. We rented a house which our California Relatives could come up and visit thru out the week. We did the 15 hour drive straight thru with our 4 boys stacked in the back seat. I think they are getting to big for that!
The week went well with the exception of our boat. We towed it those many miles only to have it on the lake for 15 minutes when the engine threw a rod and busted several holes thru the engine block!

The name of the boat is Plan B but I think our canoe should be Plan B as the boat does not hold up it's end of the deal! This is the second time it has stranded us on a lake! After Lake Tahoe, Ian traveled to his Dad's Cabin in Sand Point Idaho where the will stay!

Beyond Basics Altered Book Workshop

More Excitement in the workshop area on Saturday. Cherri Robb was teaching Beyond Basics Altered Book Workshop. Everyone had a wonderful time, creating several beautiful spreads of Paris & Italy! As Usual, Cherri goes over the top and gives the students many ideas, techniques all ending with a perfect project!

Tim Holtz's Workshops Registration Open!

Saturday was hopping at The Artists' Nook! Tim Holtz's workshop registration started on Saturday and many showed up to make sure they got registered!

Now, the long wait until September for the workshops! We are so excited! I have been inviting Tim for about 3 years to come our way! I feel so honored to have him fit us into his busy schedule!

Mother's Day Gift

My 9 year old Jeremy gave me this picture for Mother's Day.
He writes on the back: "This picture is from your favorite boy. Jeremy"

How cute is that? You see I have 4 boys and he has claimed the favorite one.

Here is the letter he wrote to go with the picture:
"Thank you for tucking me in. I made this picture for you. I also made the picture because I am a pretty good artist myself and because you are an artist. Sincerely Jeremy"

Children are true treasures.

Christine

Bowlarama Art Opening

We had a fantastic turnout for the BOWLARAMA Art Opening on Friday May 5th!
We had over 50 altered bowling pins on display and sold 4 that night!
This exhibit will be leaving The Artists' Nook May 31st but will travel to many businesses in Fort Collins to be displayed for June & July.

The Best Easter Ever!

April 18, 2006

For a 6 year old boy, that is! One would think all the candy in the world would make my 6 year old Braden the happiest. But as we found out the candy filled Easter eggs were soon ditched off to the side when he discovered his treasure!

We went to a friend's house for Easter and candy was all around. As Braden hunted for eggs he found some animal skulls that they had throughout the property. He set his eggs aside and picked up a skull and asked if he could keep it.

We left that day with 3 skulls and 1 deer antler! Life with boys!

I am just a little behind in posting. We had a wonderful time with Kelly Kilmer. Everyone's art was colorful and beautiful! Kelly is so much fun! Alot of laughter!

We have started to get some Bowling Pins in for BOWLARAMA. This was a call to artists or whoever in Fort Collins (word has it one was shipped to Rosie O'Donnell). The pins will be on display at The Artists' Nook for the month of May. Bowlarama Art Opening will be Friday May 5th 5:30pm-9:30pm. Crazy artists having fun!

I have updated the website www.theartistsnook.net

And will be working on the next schedule for May, June & July which will include Tom & Romona Ashman www.4andtwentyblackbirds.com & Michael deMeng www.michaeldemeng.com

Saturday April 1, 2006

We spent the day helping Laurie Zuckerman setting up her altars and Photos for her art opening on Friday April 7th 6-8:30 pm. She will be giving an art talk at 7:00 pm about "Shopping for Soul". It is wonderful to have her art at the store. Amazing!

My next task for the Sunday & Monday is to get all my tax stuff in order and over to the accountant. Yuck! It will feel good when it is done though.

Today is one of my son's Birthday (Jeremy). He is so cute. Dad wishes him a Happy Birthday this morning and he says, "It's not my birthday until 5 o'clock" He is very precise! They will be heading out to Fort Fun for the Birthday Party. Lots of screaming boys running around an arcade park, I think I will stay home and do taxes!

Christine

Ok, Studio messy before cleaning.

Disclaimer here before you see the cleaned up version:

Remember it is a studio after all. And I have store backstock storage in this room. So it can only get so clean. But note, you can see the floor and the table top/work areas are all cleared. We will see how long it lasts. It feels good though! Here goes:

Wed March 29, 2006

This is the mini collage I did in the Discover Your Creativity workshop last night. Every one did such beautiful work. Unplanned, "it is was it is" & they all came together.

I started on cleaning my studio today! What a job! I can see some floor! My biggest challenge is to not just move it into the workshop area!

Tomorrow, is my goal to finish. Linda is going to come by and watch the store so I can keep my flow going. Thanks, Linda.

Make It Happen!

Christine
